The event featured panelists who discussed growth management, development and environmental protection in the region

Dennis Gilkey, CEO of Gilkey Organization, recently participated in a panel discussion titled “Visioning the Future” at the Florida Earth Foundation’s South Florida Land Use Initiative Forum.

The panel, which also featured the deputy director of Audubon of Florida and other leading environmental experts, addressed the challenges presented by rapid population growth in South Florida, particularly as it relates to development of agricultural lands.

The panel explored new and innovative ways to address growth management, development and environmental protection in the region.

Private-sector and local government decision makers, real estate and construction professionals, and environmental activists were among those who attended the event, which was held at the Edison College Convention Center in Naples.

The Florida Earth Foundation (visit www.floridaearth.org) was founded in 2002 to initiate, develop and fund programs and research on natural resources in Florida.

Gilkey Organization provides land advisory and real estate development services in Southwest, North Central and Northeast Florida. The company specializes in projects that are environmentally sound and based on sustainable principles.
