Former bank executive loses battle with cancer PDF Print E-mail

Chris Ferrer, founder of Community Bank of Cape Coral, was 42

Chris Ferrer, founder of Community Bank of Cape Coral and a former president, died Tuesday morning at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral due to complications from brain cancer.

He was 42.

Ferrer lived in the city since 1975. Before starting the bank, he served in senior management, commercial lending and retail management roles with other local community and regional banks.

He belonged to boards of several nonprofit organizations. He was a graduate of Leadership Cape Coral and Leadership Lee County.

Ferrer is survived by his wife, Jill Ferrer, and three children.

A memorial service will be at noon Friday at St. Andrew Catholic Church.

In honor of Ferrer, Community Bank of Cape Coral will be closed on Friday, The bank will reopen on Saturday.
