Fifth Third Bank (South Florida) has made two appointments to its executive team.

Don Raklovits is rejoining the bank as senior vice president and affiliate mortgage manager. He is responsible for all aspects of the South Florida affiliate’s mortgage sales activity.

He served as senior officer for Old Kent and Fifth Third Bank in Michigan from 1995 to 2002. Most recently, he worked as senior vice president at Lake Michigan Financial Corporation, a bank holding company in West Michigan.

The Chicago native attended Western Michigan University and has 29 years of management experience in the mortgage industry.

The bank also named Robert W. Schoonmaker as senior vice president and investment advisor division manager.

Bob joined Fifth Third Bank’s Northwestern Ohio affiliate in 2005 and is currently leading the investment advisors line of business.

Before joining Fifth Third Bank, he held various executive positions with several Ohio-area institutions including KeyBank and National City Bank. He holds the Certified Financial Planner designation, Life and Health License, and Series 7, 63, 65 and 24 designations.

Schoonmaker earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of Toledo.
