Betsy Newman has been named vice president, residential mortgage manager at Commerce Bank of Southwest Florida (www.cbswf.com).

Newman will be responsible for all the bank’s residential mortgage and lending functions.

“Betsy has been a key member of our team since the formation of our residential mortgage department in early 2006,” said Mark L. Morris, president and chief executive officer of Commerce Bank of Southwest Florida. “ Her extensive mortgage experience and knowledge of the Southwest Florida marketplace have contributed greatly to our growth and success over this time period.”

Newman has 25 years of experience, starting with a family-owned business in Fort Myers, specializing in mortgage, real estate and building.

She attended Fort Myers High School and Santa Fe Community College.
