Sarasota-Manatee realtors sold 542 single-family homes in October, an increase of 3 percent over October 2007, according to the Florida Association of Realtors.

The median home price of $169,000 reflected a 36 percent drop over last year. Condo sales in Sarasota-Bradenton dropped 47 percent over last year, with 113 sales in October.

The median condo sale price was $212,500. Statewide, home sales were up 15 percent over October of 2007 and condo sales rose 5 percent.
