The Florida Association of Realtors reports that Sarasota-Bradenton realtors sold 1,758 homes in the third quarter of this year, down 16 percent from the third quarter of 2007.

The median sale price during the quarter was $217,500, a decrease from $283,800 one year ago.

Sarasota-Bradenton realtors sold 444 condos during the quarter at a median price of $202,600.

However, 12 metropolitan areas in Florida reported increased home sales over third quarter 2007, and seven reported increases in condo sales.
