Southeast Construction recognized the company for its South Village project

Kraft Construction Co. Inc. has received the Best of 2008 award by Southeast Construction magazine in the College/University category for Florida Gulf Coast University’s South Village Housing.

The eighth annual competition recognizes construction and design excellence from the southeast regions of Florida, Georgia, North and South Carolina.

South Village Housing, located at FGCU’s campus, was one of only 35 winning projects that will be featured in the December 2008 issue of Southeast Construction.

An independent jury of industry experts in design and construction judged 129 nominated projects in more than 20 categories.

Eligible projects had to be located within the four-state region and completed between Sept. 1, 2007 and Sept 1, 2008.

The criteria for winning includes execution of construction, innovation, contribution to the local community, ability to overcome challenges and overall excellence.

The award will be presented at a luncheon held on Dec. 2 at the Rosen Shingle Creek Centre in Orlando.
