November 7, 2008
The Fort Myers business is recognized for overcoming adversity For more than 13 years, Raimond Aulen has wrestled with reams of red tape, tons of construction debris, shifting governmental priorities and regulations and volatile economic conditions yet has continued to keep his bar, The Indigo Room, up and running through it all.

For overcoming such adversities, The Indigo Room has won the 2008 Southwest Florida Blue Chip Community Business Award.

The program, coordinated and sponsored by Oswald Trippe and Co., recognizes successful small businesses and shares their stories as models for other entrepreneurs.

Any for-profit business in existence for at least three years and employs five to 400 people was eligible for the award. A panel of independent judges chose the winner who was recognized at the annual awards luncheon on Thursday at Harborside Event Center in Fort Myers.
