A Jupiter company buys the former Mercury Marine Testing Center site at Gasparilla Sound

The shuttered Mercury Marine Testing Center site near Gasparilla Sound in Charlotte County has sold to Jupiter company for $34 million, according to the property appraiser’s office.

The transaction included various buildings on the property, which is along Placida Road near the Boca Grande Casueway. It is currently zoned industrial, however its future useis classified as "multi-code."

The buyer was Gasparilla Sound Club LLC, which could not be located for comment.

The seller was Boca Norte of Venice. A company official declined to discuss the deal or the identity of the buyer.
