The Port Charlotte-based project manager recently became a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional

Jessica Christianson, a project manager at WilsonMiller, recently became a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Accredited Professional.

She obtained the LEED AP status upon passing an exam administered by the U.S. Green Building Council, which established the LEED rating systems.

Christianson works in WilsonMiller’s Ecological & Water Resources corporate business unit in Port Charlotte. She incorporates design, construction, and maintenance techniques in projects to increase energy efficiency and reduce impacts on human heath and the environment.

The USGBC, a nonprofit organization dedicated to sustainable building design and construction, includes more than 10,500 member organizations and a network of 75 regional chapters.

The USGBC’s LEED Green Building Rating System provides a list of standards for environmentally sustainable construction and is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high-performance green buildings.
