The $22 million project included a 'Florida chic' design scheme

Hyatt Regency Sarasota (www.hyatt.com) unveiled the first phase of its $22 million renovation at a ribbon-cutting ceremony held late last week.

The entire hotel features a “ Florida chic” design scheme into its 294 guestrooms, common areas and the new Currents restaurant.

The guestroom upgrades include redesigned bathrooms, new carpet, tile, lighting and balcony doors, 32-inch flat-screen televisions and wireless internet access.

Also, the hotel has a 2,000 square-foot meeting room that offers floor-to-ceiling views of the lagoon-style pool and private marina.

The second phase of the renovation is scheduled to be completed in late 2008 and includes transformation of the former Boathouse restaurant to over-the-water event space.
