The local real estate market showed further signs of decline in the first quarter, according to the Florida Association of Realtors.

Existing single home sales in the Sarasota-Bradenton metro area totaled 1,807 for the quarter compared 1,978 during the same period a year ago. The median sales price for those homes was $245,600, down from $298,100 in the first quarter of 2007.

Condo sales ended at 699 for the quarter compared with 856 during the same period a year ago. The median sales price was $204,700, down from $312,600 in the first quarter of 2007.
