Local existing residential property sales and median sales prices in March declined from last year’s levels, according to the Florida Association of Realtors.

Sales of single-family homes in the Sarasota-Manatee metro area last month totaled 709, a 15 percent drop from 834 sales made in March 2007.

The median sales price in March was $239,300 compared with $291,500 last year, an 18 percent decrease.

Condo sales fell 17 percent last month to 313, down from 378 in 2007. Median sales prices in March were $188,900 compared with $276,200 during the same period last year.
