The planning firm's volunteers worked on homes in Cape Coral (left) and east Naples
On Nov. 10, volunteers from RWA’s (www.consult-rwa.com) Naples and Fort Myers offices hammered nails, raised trusses, fastened hurricane straps, framed doors and anchored walls to help build homes in both Cape Coral and the Trail Ridge Habitat for Humanity community in east Naples.
“I feel very fortunate to have helped hammer nails and raise the trusses on this house. The hard work our volunteers put in is no match to the gratitude that radiates on the faces of the future homeowners,” states Casondra Hendry, a senior project coordinator at RWA Fort Myers. Through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, Habitat builds and rehabilitates simple, decent houses with the help of the homeowner families. Habitat houses are sold to partner families at no profit and financed with affordable loans. About 80 other homes are currently under construction in the Naples Trail Ridge community, which will eventually house 204 families. RWA’s employee volunteers worked right alongside the families who must work sweat equity hours to earn their Habitat home. Each family must contribute at least 500 hours to help build houses in their future community. Headquartered in Naples RWA Inc. provides an array of services, from initial planning through final design, permitting and construction for their portfolio of private and public sector clients. |
