The company reports a 33 percent increase in the first quarter

Sun Hydraulics Corp. (Nasdaq: SNHY) on Tuesday reported a first-quarter profit of $7.7 million, a 33 percent increase from net income of $5.8 million for the same period in 2007. Sales for the quarter were $49 million compared with $40.9 million in the first quarter of last year.

Allen Carlson, Sun's CEO and president, said strong sales in North American, European and Asian/Pacific market drove up sales figures.

Sun Hydraulics (www.sunhydraulics.com) designs and manufactures of high- performance, screw-in hydraulic cartridge valves and manifolds for worldwide industrial and mobile markets.
