The May event will be at Tarpon Point

The Lee Building Industry Association will hold its first “Bricks & Sticks” fishing tournament on May 9 and 10.

The event is open to all.

Anglers and their guests will begin the festivities with a captain’s meeting on May 9 at Tarpon Point Marina. The meeting includes a Hooters dinner and open bar from 6 to 8:30 p.m., and live music from 7 to 9:30 p.m.

The tournament begins on May 10 with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. and conclude at 4 p.m..

Anglers will fish for two snook, two redfish and two ladyfish: “total length,” photo release. They will also be able to participate in a big redfish Calcutta.

All attendees will have the opportunity to participate in both live and silent auctions, from 5 to until 9 p.m. The awards banquet begins at 7 p.m. with an Outback Steakhouse dinner and open bar until 9:30 p.m.
