The billionaire investor owns almost 15 percent of the company's stock
Billionaire investor Carl Icahn is discussing a possible transaction with WCI Communities Inc. (NYSE: WCI), according to a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing on Friday. The announcement came a week after WCI’s board of directors said it had formed a special committee “to review and evaluate alternative restructuring proposals that (the company) may receive from potential investors.” Icahn, who owns 14.5 of WCI’s stock, said his company talking to special committee and its advisers regarding potential restructuring proposals. “Such discussions may ultimately lead to (Ican’s firm) entering into a transaction. However, there can be no assurances of a transaction,” according to the filing.
