Sarasota County’s Green Business Partnership welcomes Longboat Key Club and Resort

Longboat Key Club and Resort has joined Sarasota County’s Green Business Partnership (www.scgov.net/greenbusiness), becoming the first resort and club to receive the designation.

With more than 500 employees, the company has provided the management leadership, and invested the resources and time necessary to implement environmental measures, according to Sarasota County recycling coordinator Tom Franklin.

Franklin says the resort has invested in solar-powered bell carts and is tracking energy and water usage and garbage generation to find further opportunities to reduce its environmental impact.
