The Bradenton HR company reported negative $1.6 million for the first quarter
Gevity (NASDAQ: GVHR) reported a first-quarter net loss of $1.6 million compared with a $2.5 million profit posted during the same period a year ago. Revenues for the quarter totaled $142 million, down from $161.1 million reported in the first quarter of 2007. The Bradenton company, which serves as the full-service human resources department for small and mid-sized businesses, attributed the negative number to: An operating loss of $2.1 million in its Gevity Edge Select segment, which the company has previously announced that it will exit; and a 600,000 as part of a previously announced cost-alignment initiative in the company’s Gevity Edge segment. |
