Crowne Plaza Hotel earns 'One Palm' PDF Print E-mail

The state will recognize the hotel's effort to become a Certified Green Lodging Employees of The Crowne Plaza Hotel at Bell Tower will be recognized for their part in having the facility designated as a “One Palm” Certified Green Lodging destination.

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection will hold a ceremony at 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 19 at the hotel employees. Lee County commissioners Tammy Hall and Brian Bigelow plan to be in attendance. A reception will follow the presentation.

This Green Lodging designation is voluntary and requires the hotel to maintain and consistently update its efforts to decrease their impact on the environment through various “green” measures. To receive at ‘One Palm’ designation, candidate locations must meet and exceed a range of criteria from indoor air quality to recycling and energy usage. To receive a “Two Palm” designation, previously approved lodging venues must reapply in one year and provide documentation of increased efforts in their “green” practices.

The Crowne Plaza Hotel is at 13051 Bell Tower Drive.
