Six Collier County companies get the nod

The Economic Development Council (EDC) of Collier County has recognized six companies in its third annual "Best Place to Work" in Collier County competition.

The winners are Markham Norton Mosteller Wight & Co., Thomas Riley Artisans' Guild, Gulfshore Insurance Co., Conservancy of Southwest Florida, Quarles and Brady LLP and the Collier County Sheriff's Office.

The EDC also honored six companies for their best practices. They are: Yamron Jewelers, Professional Building Systems, Walker Contracting Group, Conditioned Air, Parker Aerospace and Seminole Casino Immokalee.

The "Best Places to Work" measured such criteria as turnover, growth, employee training and development, and promotion rates.
