The company was established in Fort Myers in 1953

Cement Industries Inc. (www.cementindustries.com) will celebrates its 55th anniversary on Wednesday.

The company was established in Fort Myers as a small concrete-products manufacturer and construction-products supplier. Since 1953, the plant has grown to more than 30 times its original size, and the company has evolved from a construction supply house and block producer to the area’s largest producer of precast/prestressed products.

CI manufactures a full line of prestressed products including Spancrete hollowcore, wall panels, double tees, columns, beams and stairs.

More than a dozen arenas and stadiums, including Germain Arena in Lee County, the Bank Atlantic Center in Broward County and American Airlines Arena in Miami, have been built with Cement Industries-supplied product.

Other typical projects include schools, office buildings, parking decks and multifamily housing.
