Hammer Construction will build the 9,000 square-foot facility

Hammer Construction has been awarded a contract to build the Smallville Preschool, a combination preschool and daycare facility with an expected capacity of 100 students.

The new building will be located at 420 N. Del Prado Blvd. in Cape Coral.

The 9,000 square-foot structure will feature 11 class rooms to accommodate children ages of 1 to 4. The design of the building will include the security features, food delivery and early learning features associated with the premier pre-schools in Florida.

A separate high-security playground is also incorporated within the design.

Construction is expected to begin early next year.

Phil Butts will be the project superintendent. The building was designed by Greg Goertler of Joe Dubeck Architecture in Fort Myers.
