Compass Construction Inc. (www.compassconstruction.com) has started work on a Suncoast Schools Federal Credit Union building in southeast Cape Coral.

The $1.5 million project will be a prototype for all future branches throughout Florida. Standardization of design and construction will allow for more control of design and construction costs, and will help expedite openings of future facilities.

The project consists of a one-story, 5,000 square-foot building with a shingle roof and brick-veneer exterior, parking, drive-through banking lanes and landscaping.

The interior will feature interactive kiosks for customer services, full teller lines and a new-accounts department as well as general office areas and employee lounge.

Laura Dieter will serve as project manager, Marian Poole will be the project administrator and Carlo Isola will be superintendent.
