Westwater Construction Inc.'s Commercial Division has been awarded the contract for the build-out of Broadway Bar.

The completion of Broadway Bar will mark the final phase of the Broadway Promenade, a $30-million mixed-use project containing condominiums, a Publix supermarket and the revamped Broadway Bar.

The Broadway Bar, which was originally located at the site of the Broadway Promenade on North Tamiami, was the oldest bar in the city of Sarasota, serving local residents from 1925 until temporarily shutting its doors until its new building, at the corner of 10th Street and Cocoanut Avenue, is completed.
