Cement Industries will host the session, which offers continuing ed credits
Cement Industries Inc., in conjunction with the Florida Prestressed Concrete Association (FPCA), invites Southwest Florida architects, engineers and general contractors to a Nov. 14 “Lunch and Learn” session. The seminar offers three hours of continuing education credits. FPCA executive director Joe Lord will present a one-hour “Basics of Prestressed Concrete” program, which is accredited by the American Institute of Architects, during a lunch provided by Cement Industries. Two additional CEU credits are available for those who participate in a Cement Industries plant tour following lunch. The tour covers concrete batching, production, quality-control lab tests and finishing operations for a variety of prestressed concrete products. The program begins at 11:30 a.m. at the Cement Industries training facility on Evans Avenue in Fort Myers. There is no charge for the program, but reservations are required. Please call Jessica at 332-1440 for reservations or additional information. The Florida Prestressed Concrete Association was founded in 1957 to provide the people of Florida superior building systems that are durable, attractive and low-cost. The association sponsors scholarship programs, provides training and certification for state inspectors and maintains an interactive forum for the exchange of ideas and information.
