A Canadian developer has purchased 289 acres in Sarasota County for $6.13 million, according to the county property appraiser’s office.

The land, which is now zoned for agricultural use, is near State Road 72; no address was provided. The buyer was Lindvest Properties Ltd. of Downsview, Ontario.

The company’s Web site says it’s a developer of master-planned communities.

The seller was G and T Land Development LLC.
